Introducing: TRIBE Relay Across Scotland By Ultra X
Reading Time: 2 minutes

One of our core aims at Ultra X is to establish a strong community of like-minded individuals and there aren’t many better ways to foster a sense of connection than by running through the day and night with friends (and rivals!), traversing an entire country along breathtaking terrain on minimal sleep. ⁣ It therefore gives us great pleasure to officially launch one of the most exciting events in our 2020 race calendar: TRIBE Relay Across Scotland by Ultra X.

What: A non-stop 220km relay across Scotland, from Helensburgh (Glasgow) to Dunbar (Edinburgh)When: 19-20 June 2020Where: The John Muir WayWho: YOU, in teams of 8 (Regular Crew, averaging 27.5km each) or 4 (Ultra Crew, averaging 55km each)Why: To raise funds to support the fight against modern slavery alongside the TRIBE Freedom Foundation

This Summer Solstice, Ultra X are once again partnering with TRIBE to offer an unforgettable team challenge. On the longest day of the year, YOU are invited to gather your tribe and relay across Scotland from West to East along the epic John Muir Way.

Crews of either 8 (Regular) or 4 (Ultra) will have 24 hours to cover 220km from coast to coast, with one person from each team running at any one time. The rest of the team will drive themselves between the 16 Exchange Points where they will meet their runner to exchange their tracker. Regular Crews will run two legs each, averaging a total of 27.5km and Ultra Crews will run in an order of their choosing, averaging a total of 55km.

The relay will finish in Dunbar, East Lothian where there will be a beach BBQ and party on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the weekend in true Ultra X community fashion: with beers, music and great food! Following this, crews will drive back to Edinburgh and regroup for the finish party and awards ceremony organised by TRIBE and Midnight Runners.

Relay Across Scotland is also a fantastic opportunity to raise more awareness and funds for a world free from slavery. Together we will push the limits of human endurance and fundraise £75,000 to support the fight against modern slavery.

Having completed similar challenges ourselves, we know from experience that taking on an overnight relay is one of the most epic adventures out there. With the addition of a finish line BBQ and party by the sea, this will be one weekend to remember.
