In-House Filmmaking Internship

Location: Work from wherever you want. From March our HQ will be in London Bridge where you will be welcome. However, there is no requirement to be office-based. During the 6 month internship you will travel with us to Rwanda, Tanzania, the Moroccan Sahara, Finland as well as all over the UK. If you are offered a full-time contract, the second half of your year will see you visiting Jordan, Morocco, Madeira, Slovenia and South Africa!

Schedule: 5 days per week. Six month contract with the opportunity for full time employment after.

📍 Who we are: Ultra X is an ultra and trail race organiser operating in adventurous and exotic locations. A job at Ultra X isn’t for everyone, but it’s a phenomenal place for the right person. Our team consists of a small group of highly committed individuals who are obsessed with building the greatest brand in the endurance space. In just 7 years we’ve gone from hosting our first race with just 7 people, to in 2026, welcoming 7,000 people to our start lines around the world.

This role is not for the fainthearted. However, if you give it your all, there is no ceiling to what you’ll be able to achieve with us.

🎬 Role Purpose:
As our In-House Filmmaker, you will be the visual storyteller for Ultra X. Your role is to film, edit, and deliver compelling video content that reflects the spirit, challenge, beauty, and community of each event. This includes both short-form content for social media and long-form race films.

✨ Key Responsibilities:

  • Film race-day coverage including runners in action, landscapes and trails, campsite environments (for multi-day races), finishers, support crews, and general atmosphere.
  • Produce long-form and short form race videos including full race recaps, multi-day race films, and athlete journey stories.
  • Shoot and edit post-race film packages for runners that capture their journey, performance, emotions, and overall experience.
  • Manage and post content on Ultra X social media accounts when not on location.
  • Maintain and manage video and media assets. Ensure all footage is backed up, organised, edited to a high standard, and delivered on time.

🎯 What we are looking for:

  • Legally allowed to work in the UK
  • Experience in filming and editing. Experience in action, sports, outdoor, or adventure environments is ideal. You should be comfortable working in challenging conditions such as deserts, mountains, or remote campsites.
  • Strong video editing and content creation skills across multiple formats including long-form, short-form, reels, and social media content.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and readiness to travel. You will travel frequently to varied locations and must be able to manage shoot logistics effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills including footage management, meeting deadlines, maintaining the content calendar, and communication with the team.
  • Self-motivation and proactivity. You will often work independently, especially on location, and will need to make quick creative decisions and solve problems.
  • A passion for endurance, trail running, or adventure. This role is about telling real stories of people pushing their limits.

💼 Terms and Conditions:

  • Contract length: 6-month initial contract.
  • Compensation: £1,500 per month.
  • Post-contract: A full-time role may be offered upon successful completion of the 6-month period.

Social Media Manager – Instagram

We’re looking for previous race participants and passionate Ultra X’ers who want to help grow our online community by managing one of our 10 social media accounts on Instagram. As a page lead, you’ll run the official Instagram account for the event you’ve completed, sharing stories, tips, behind the scenes insights, and what makes your race special for future participants.

You’ll work closely with our Commercial Manager, Kit, and have access to our brand guidelines plus a full library of photos and videos. In return for your contribution to the community, you’ll receive:
