Fair Work First Statement
Ultra X is committed to fair, responsible and inclusive employment practices across our organisation and the events we deliver.
We support the Scottish Government’s Fair Work First principles and are committed to providing fair work for our employees, contractors, freelancers, event staff and volunteers wherever we operate.
Real Living Wage
Ultra X is committed to ensuring that all directly employed staff are paid at least the real Living Wage. We review pay regularly and will continue to ensure that roles connected to our events are paid fairly and appropriately.
Effective Voice
Ultra X is committed to ensuring that staff and workers have clear, safe and meaningful channels to raise ideas, concerns and feedback.
We support effective voice through:
- regular team meetings and one-to-one check-ins;
- direct access to line managers and senior leadership;
- post-event debriefs involving staff, contractors and delivery teams;
- opportunities for staff to influence operational planning and event delivery;
- clear internal routes for raising concerns confidentially.
As an event organiser, we rely on the skill, judgement and lived experience of our team. Feedback from staff, contractors, volunteers and participants is used to improve the way we plan and deliver events.
Wider Fair Work First Commitments
Ultra X is also committed to working towards the wider Fair Work First criteria, including:
- investing in workforce development and training;
- avoiding inappropriate use of zero-hours contracts;
- supporting flexible and family-friendly working where possible;
- creating an inclusive workplace with equal opportunity for progression;
- taking action to reduce barriers to participation and employment;
- opposing the use of fire and rehire practices.
Our approach
Ultra X’s events are built around community, safety, inclusion and opportunity. We believe those values should apply not only to participants, but also to the people who help us deliver our events.
We will continue to review and improve our working practices as Ultra X grows, including across our Scottish events, to ensure that our organisation reflects the standards expected of a responsible employer and event organiser.
